Sunday 14th December saw the presentation of the 2014 1888 Charity Shield at Celtic Park following this year’s Celtic FC Foundation seven-aside tournament in May.
ACE Refrigeration Sales Director Shane McKenzie presented the Charity Shield to the Bhoys from Des Hamilton Casting who emerged triumphant when the final whistle blew.
ACE Refrigeration was the official sponsor of the event for the second year in a row, with our roots firmly established in Glasgow’s east end since 1951, and the company’s current head office run by the McKenzie family in Milnbank Street, just off Alexandra Parade.
The tournament raised an incredible net total in excess of £16,000 and will support Celtic FC Foundation’s work with disabled children in local communities and, in particular, Celtic’s partnership with Scottish Disability Sport.
This partnership project provides access to sport and physical activity for children and young people with physical, learning and sensory impairments. Education and training are also a key feature of the development programme to up-skill the knowledge and experience of coaches, volunteers and staff to ensure sustainability and continuity to all aspects of the programme.
Well done to all involved!
