The Customer

McGhee’s Family Bakers was founded in 1935 by Dugald McGhee at the original bakehouse in Oran Street, Maryhill in Glasgow. Still run as a family business more than 75 years later, McGhee’s cover the central belt of Scotland sending vans to Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Stirling and Perth on a daily basis, whilst establishing themselves as a supplier of the Glasgow favourite “Crispy Rolls”. The directors’ commitment meant a move to state-of-the-art premises at the M8 food park in June 2005, where they now operate out of possibly the most efficient bakery production unit in Britain, producing more than two million rolls each week. ACE Refrigeration are responsible for the service & maintenance of three McGhee’s Group sites, taking care of the crucial refrigeration required to ensure the integrity of all rolls, bread, cakes and savouries  as enjoyed all around the country every day.

We are Safe Contractor certified and have a team of fully trained, qualified and highly experienced engineers plus our own in house design team who can tailor solutions to fit customers requirements. Our engineers have all undergone thorough health & safety and risk assessment training and we invest in their on-going training & development to ensure we maintain our high standards. ACE Refrigeration Ltd also holds a Real Zero Gold Certificate obtained after embracing the principles of the Institute of Refrigeration Real Zero campaign. Developed in the UK and now rolled out throughout Europe, Real Zero provides a belief that no refrigerant leakage is acceptable and supplies a methodology in how best to achieve this.
